Sales Development Representative

  • Type: Full time, permanent (3 month probation period)

  • Hours: Business hours with potential for flexible schedules (especially to cover alternative time zones where our customers are located)

About the role

We're a scaling startup with massive ambitions and we're looking for a dynamic sales rep to play a pivotal role in our sales and growth.

You'll run smart, highly-targeted outbound sales campaigns to reach new prospects, using discovery calls, emails and research to qualify the most appropriate and promising leads.

You'll also be managing our CRM, contribute to our marketing materials and provide continual feedback to our product and editorial teams on what you're learning, what's working (and what's not working), and what opportunities we should be exploiting.

This role would suit someone with some previous sales experience who is looking for a new opportunity to develop and grow into a more senior sales role in an exciting and scaling business.

About you

Experience in the following areas is desirable but we want to meet anyone who has the motivation to be successful in this role, and is eager to learn quickly on the job. Attitude trumps experience!

  • Comfortable using the phone to build relationships with new people.
  • Savvy web-based research to find the most valuable prospects.
  • Using Linkedin Pro or Sales Navigator and a CRM.
  • Excellent communication skills, the ability to listen as much as sell, and quickly decide if we can offer value to our potential customers.
  • Previous experience selling to other businesses and/or media/advertising sales would be a major plus.
  • Knowledge of the digital publishing and marketing landscape is also highly desirable.
